Since its establishment in 1987 the University of Akureyri (UNAK) has grown rapidly to an important and progressive milieu of higher education and research. UNAK has three faculties: Business and Science, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Health Sciences. UNAK offers a Master's programme in Polar Law, taught in English, as well as an LLM in Polar Law and a Diploma in Polar Law.
