The 20th of October 2012 the next trip of the season will take place. The destination is Snæfellsnes which lies in the west part of Iceland.
West Iceland has long been a favorite for its diverse nature, rich fauna and living history and culture. Easily reachable from Reykjavík via a 6 km tunnel under Hvalfjörður (“Whale fjord”), West Iceland is a showcase of lava formations and history.
We will drive through;
Borgarnes – Gerðuberg – Strönd við Ytri Tungu – Arnarstapi – Dritvík - Djúpalónssandur – Hellissandur – Rif – Ólafsvík – Grundarfjörður – Bjarnarhöfn – Reykjavík.
At Bjarnarhöfn they welcome visitors to their own little Sharkmuseum all year around. At the museum you can learn about the Greenland shark, its habits, biology and of course you can taste the shark.
Payment; 6500 kr has to bee done between 15-18 of October at the International Office
Registration: Registration deadline is Thursday, 18th of October before 24:00 o‘clock at studyiniceland.is.
Time: Saturday, 20th October , 8:00-18:00
Meeting point: In front of the Main Building of the University of Iceland (the big gravel car park)
Important:If you register and then for some reason cannot go to the trip you will need to send an email to ask@hi.is BEFORE the registration deadline, otherwise your registration is binding.
